Being an editor, you will receive email notifications whenever someone submits/publishes at article on the publication. And because you’re an editor, just like everyone else, you will have access to others’ articles.

That’s why the rules are to only edit and publish your own articles and not anyone else’s. If you see an article that isn’t yours which isn’t published yet, it probably just means the author has added it to the publication but isn’t ready to publish it just yet and they will do it on their own time.
