Hi Dais, just so you know, I did not equate cursing with suicide. If you read through my article, nowhere did I say that cursing is directly linked to suicide. What I did say is that our words carry meaning — heavy meaning.

And these words, when used in an abusive manner, like when someone is cyberbullied, can and have led to people taking their lives.

I’m sorry that you went through being cyberbullied, it’s definitely not a nice thing to experience.

I use the word ‘fuck’ a lot as well. Though I try to tone it down a lot more now because I don’t want my kids to pick up on it. I fully understand and agree that cursing words are just words but again, a word carries a lot of meaning and my point here is that it should be used with greater consideration.

Again, not equating cursing with suicide and not saying that cursing is all that bad. I’m just saying that our words carry a lot of meaning to our readers, and it’s just a reminder to be mindful of what we say.

This article alone is a case in point where my words have seemed to offend people and I do apologise if it offended you as I never meant to do so.
