I Work A Job That Is Meaningful — Just Not For Me

You can do something that’s meaningful but it doesn’t mean that you will enjoy it

By my country’s standards, I’m in the middle section of the middle-income earners category. I’m not poor but neither am I rich. If anything, I get by on a month to month basis, neither struggling nor thriving. Things could be worse but at the same time, things could be better as well.

This is my reality with the job that I have now.

A job that pays OK, have good benefits (especially medical) for myself and my immediate family members, and provides security for me.

A job that many — if I’m to be honest — would love to have, given the current economic situation in my country (as well as the world over). It is a job that I’m very grateful to have. Throughout the pandemic that we’ve experienced over the last year and a half, I’ve been one of the fortunate ones to not have lost my job or even experienced a pay cut.

Instead, I’ve had a consistent paycheque which has enabled me to not just keep things in place for myself and my family, but also to help others that were not as fortunate as I have been.
