LIFE LESSONS

Money Isn’t The Answer To Everything

And the sooner you realise this, the better

I was having a conversation with my wife the other day about the cost of living in a few countries and it reminded me of a similar conversation that we had with my brother.

Both my wife and I agree that the cost of living in the UK (where she’s from) is much cheaper compared to the cost of living in Malaysia (where I’m from and where we’re currently based).

This is when you compare things dollar to dollar, rather than converting one currency to the other.

For perspective purposes, £1 = RM5.60, so the spending power of the Pound Sterling is definitely much higher, and for a Malaysian to head over to the UK to spend, we’d have to spend a LOT of Malaysian money.

Where else, if a Brit were to come to Malaysia, he/she would be pretty rich when converting Pounds to the Malaysian Ringgit.

Anyway, my brother was saying that he would find it really hard to survive in the UK as compared to living in Malaysia because the cost of living is so high over there — which baffled my wife as she’d had spent a good 28 years of her life living and growing up there.
