Some people just like to read without engaging, like myself for example. I can easily say that out of 10 articles that I read and like, I may only comment on 1 of them.

It’s the same with my articles too. There are articles where I get over 100 fans but maybe only 1 or 2 comments.

Honestly, for me, as long as a reader stays and reads, even if they don’t clap, that’s fine. :) my job is to just get them coming back for more, regardless of whether they’re engaging or not.
